Welcome to IBEW Local 457
Local 457 was chartered in 1972. We represent approximately 1200 working men and women in CT. Our workforce is on the properties of Connecticut Light and Power, GDF Suez, Norwich Public Utilities, NRG Generation, Wallingford Public Utilities and Yankee Gas Services Company.
Our mission is to protect the rights and safety of all our workers throughout the various contracts and work locations. To that end we administer and negotiate 15 different contracts. Our office is in Meriden, CT, where we have of staff of four working full-time; a Business Manager, Assistant Business Manager, Senior Administrator and Class A Administrator.
We also have 16 members serving as Assistant Business Agents on the various properties we represent along with 14 Chief Stewards and 62 Stewards. These members aid in the handling of grievances as well as representing the Local on various committees.

The Members of IBEW Local 457 & 420 who are employed with NRG, Energy, Inc. voted on January 23, 2012 to accept their contract.

IBEW 457 Members in Willimantic Send Treats to Troops in Afghanistan
We received this picture from Warren B. Rogers, President of the NU Veterans Association. He said, "Here are just a few of the 457 many members in the Willimantic work center who collected goods and money for 15 boxes of presents and treats for our troops in Afghanistan. There was more stuff to send than we had boxes for, so another shipment will go out after the first of the year. " He also stated, "On behalf of the NU Veterans Association, many heartfelt thanks to all for their support of our troops."
